Tussen 2001 en 2003 heb ik aan het Piet Zwart Instituut in Rotterdam gestudeerd. Mijn werk bestaat uit fotografie, documentaires en video-installaties, en is vaak geïnspireerd door of gebaseerd op archiefmateriaal.

Voor mijn documentaires werk ik bij voorkeur met correspondenties, dagboeken of autobiografieën waarin ‘kleine geschiedenis’ is vastgelegd. Deze bieden mij de mogelijkheid om de abstractie van historische gebeurtenissen te verbinden met herinneringen; een verbinding die de geschiedenis aanvult en nuanceert en nieuwe perspectieven biedt.

In 2022 ontving ik de Documentaire Stipendium van het Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds en in 2021 won mijn film O, verzamelen van eieren in weerwil van de tijd de IDFA award voor beste regie in de Envision competitie.

Between 2001 and 2003, I studied at the Piet Zwart Institute in Rotterdam. My work consists of photography, documentaries and video installations, and is often inspired by or based on archival material.

For my films I prefers to work with correspondences, diaries or autobiographies in which ‘small history’ has been recorded. These provide me with the opportunity to link the abstraction of historical events to memories; a link which completes and nuances history and provides new perspectives.

In 2022 I received the Documentary Stipend of the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds and in 2021 my film O, collecting eggs despite the times won the IDFA award for best directing in the Envision competition.
